KEVIN SWINDELL MAKES KNOXVILLE GOAL A REALITY
Memphis, TN --
May 3, 2005 --
Goals are reached in all sorts of ways and this weekends trip to the famous Knoxville Raceway proved to be successful for Kevin Swindell. His goal: to make the A-Main in his first ever attempt on the track that many call "American's Greatest Dirt Track."
Going into Friday night’s program, sixty of the best sprint cars in the nation were on hand to attempt to qualify for the World of Outlaws race. “I only got four laps of practice then went out to qualify. I was 23rd quick out of sixty cars, which was ok. I just had to make sure I put together eight good laps in the heat and advance which I was able to do. The track was fast and slick, but still had two grooves so I was able to move around some and transfer from my heat into the main. I felt really good about making the race the very first time I came here,” said Kevin.
Kevin’s next race will be Lake Ozark Speedway on Friday, May 6 then on to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Saturday, May 7. With wins already at Tri-City Speedway in the 600 mini-sprints, Kevin looks forward to moving up into the sprint car for this weekends event.
