WoO WEEKEND UPDATE - KEVIN SWINDELL
Pevely, MO -- Apr 3, 2006 --

I-55 Raceway is a track I had been waiting to race on since I was old enough to think about it.  I qualified pretty good considering the track was really slick and we had to run right up against the wall.  Drawing a later number had us all a little worried, but it was decent and good enough to make the Dash.

I started 12th in the main and was running 6th with 8 laps to go when the yellow came out.  Because the caution lasted so long, on the restart, my tires had cooled off and sealed up some and I fell back to finish 11th. We had a top-5 car easy and I hated to see that last yellow.

I was glad to see them work on the track after the Dash so that we did not have a rubber down track and could at least pass cars.  I wanted it to be like I had seen it so many times before when my dad raced; with a nice cushion on top.

Overall, we had a good night and I am glad I got to race there.
